Meet Barbara Shaw: 28 years of getting the hard ones closed
Every mortgage shop has a person the tricky files migrate toward. Ours is Barbara Shaw — and the files find her because she closes them.
Barbara started in mortgages in 1998, after relocating from Erie, Pennsylvania to North Carolina with a real-estate background and an open mind. A mentor taught her the business end to end, and somewhere along the way she developed a specialty most loan officers politely avoid: the complicated ones. Self-employment income that needs explaining. Credit histories with a story. Deals other lenders looked at and handed back.
Why the hard files matter
Anyone can close a perfect file. But most families aren't a perfect file — they're a real one. Barbara's near-three decades mean she's seen almost every version of "complicated" and knows which lender, which program, and which piece of documentation turns a no into a clear-to-close. That pattern library only comes one way: time.
Her clients describe the same experience — personal, patient, reliable. It's why so much of her business arrives the best way business can: sent by the last family she helped.
